Baby It’s Gold Outside

Tis the season for metallics!  In our household, they have always been a holiday staple. Although, if we are honest, both of us have a slightly unhealthy year round obsession with all things gold. Needless to say, when we spotted this beautiful luggage from iFLY it was no exception.

Its striking appearance makes it undoubtedly stylish but even more so opulent. Nothing says luxury, sophistication and elegance like gold….3 things that usually come with a high price. Luckily, iFLY believes that “great luggage shouldn’t cost more than your airfare”. After all, who doesn’t like to travel luxuriously while still managing to save a few dollars?

Not only is their luggage trendy, it is resistant. When it comes to luggage, style is nothing without durability. Recently, we took our Fibertech – Rose Gold  and Fibertech – Gold sets along with us as we journeyed from Atlanta, GA to Los Angeles, CA. Surprisingly, they made it from one coast to the next, through multiple baggage handlers and the frenzy at LAX all while obtaining no bumps or bruises. We were impressed! It’s safe to say our iFLY luggage will be with us on trips to come because we know that with it, there is a guarantee that each experience will be golden!

The Hollywood Hotel: Luxury & Leisure

Hubert de Givenchy once said “Luxury is in each detail.” That is not only certain for great clothing but also for the crème de la crème of hotels. This truth became reality as we explored between the walls of what we would like to consider to be a Hollywood treasure.

Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown L.A, tucked away in East Hollywood lives The Hollywood Hotel. Its’ contemporary, cosmopolitan, and luxurious atmosphere embodies everything that one would desire when looking for the perfect getaway.

Two of our favorite features were the courtyard and pool area, both beautifully designed for maximum relaxation. As we approached the pool area we were greeted by a host of various tropical plants which set the tone for the oasis inside. Surrounding the swimming pool was a blanket of perfectly manicured green, decorated with some of the most trendy chairs that if captured and posted on Instagram would turn any feed into one that is aesthetically pleasing.

During our stay we spent much of our time in the courtyard, which to our enjoyment was a picturesque Mediterranean retreat. The space was filled with quaint corners occupied by tables for two that were adorned with vibrant succulents. Stretching the rest of the quarter was cozy furniture and a gorgeous bar aligned with customized Hollywood Hotel seating where complimentary drinks and appetizers were served daily. As if that was not enough, lights streamed from the top of the courtyard creating a whole different world as night fell.

On top of all of that, The Hollywood Hotel fulfilled our usual checklist. The staff was kind, the rooms were cozy, and the complimentary breakfast was one to remember. Needless to say, we greatly enjoyed our stay. We’ll see you soon!

How To Take Boss Travel Photos

You don’t have to have thousands of dollars worth of photography equipment to nail great travel blog photos, all you need is a beautiful location, a cell phone, or a camera, and an idea of the kind of photos you’d like to capture. It is beneficial to keep in mind people, places, & things. Remembering this will aide you in rendering a variety of alluring travel photography that you will want to share with everyone.

One way in which we love to achieve interesting photos is by experimenting with different perspectives. Overhead and aerial views are some of our favorites. Although these can be difficult to render without a drone, do not be discouraged if you do not have one. It is very possible to still get great photos from above. Find a safe high point and go for it! Many hotels and restaurants have rooftop lounges which are perfect places for taking ideal overhead shots.

Additional pro tips:
•Get closer to your subject
•Keep lighting in mind
•Consider the time of day
•fill in the frame of your photo
•move around
•take advantage of zoom
•plan what you want to capture
